Three
things I look for in a church:

> A community that values worship
for
its own sake. People that love God seek
a way to express it easily and joyfully.
> Parish community life. If we find no way to connect outside
the sanctuary, worship life becomes mere ritual.
> Physical structure. I love the warmth,
and antiquity of village style stone structures.
Why Emmanuel fits me:

My first visit to Emmanuel reached deep in my soul. I have always
been an Episcopalian; I love the Liturgy and the beautiful
hymns. But worship had become
routine. At Emmanuel, the worship experience went beyond this.
It was a community that worshipped deeply -
to me it was palpable. It is also a community of fellowship that
goes beyond the service and coffee hour.
There is so much room for all of us to participate.
No one, myself included, would ever have thought that I would
grow in my faith to a degree that I would become a Vestry member,
a Sr. Warden, a member of the choir, a crucifer, a chalice bearer,
a lector, deliver a homily, lead morning prayer, participate
in extracurricular worship activities and spend time with friends
made at Church.
Emmanuel....with God, helps me understand that
life is good!

Three
things I look for in a church:

> It’s inviting, welcoming, inclusive
and spiritually nurturing
> It’s scaled on a personal
level,
where everyone can know your name
> It’s close to home
Why Emmanuel fits me:

It fulfils my “top 3” criteria, but more importantly
it is very supportive of including my toddler son in all aspects
of worship and fellowship.
The parish is very tolerant of letting kids
be kids ( ),
within reason and lets him share in the liturgy in his own way
and at his own pace, so that it becomes a natural extension of
our family life.

Three
things I look for in a church:

> Spiritual comfort
> A welcoming community
> A place where I could experience
God's love
Why Emmanuel fits me:

What brought me and my dog to Emmanuel was the blessing of the
animals, Feast of St. Francis. My life had changed in a big way
and I was looking for a place where I could find peace and comfort.
I found just what I was looking for at Emmanuel.
It was the right place at the perfect time.
A door was opened and when I walked inside, I was welcomed and
given kindness. Some people come into our lives and leave footprints
on our hearts.
If you want to experience God's love, come to Emmanuel.
